As we indulge this season, we invited Gina from the online publication What the Doost!? in to share her breakfast experience.

Gina: If you’re anything like me — an entrepreneur with a real appetite for food — then you can catch me at my best over a delicious meal. Better yet, let’s start the day this way! Since I’m always running around Manhattan and have meetings all over the city, it’s important to find a place that suits a meeting with impressive food.
I’m an early person by force — which means I like starting off my days early but it’s not always the easiest to get out of bed. But once I’m up, I’m ready to take on the day. My most productive days start with the gym then breakfast. And every morning starts with coffee.
I recommend holding your next meeting or office gathering at Black Barn and allow the wonderful staff to treat you well and the strong Brooklyn Roasting Company Coffee will help get the ideas flowing.
Their pastries baked in-house are irreplaceable and a must have! We tried the Kouign-Amann → every bite was filled with a burst of crunchy, flakey, sweetness that overtook our palates.
Be good and order a side of their seasonal fruits. Theirs is drizzled with a thin honey layer which perfectly complements Mother Nature’s treats.
The breakfast pastrami sandwich is a hearty take on the classic favorite breakfast sandwich. Between the flavorful everything bagel and the thinly sliced pastrami, you’ll find a cabbage slaw that ties the sandwich together. This is a serious breakfast sandwich. The side of home fries will ensure you can work straight through lunch if duty calls.
One more time because well…
What I got:
If you’re looking for more of a health conscious dish, you’l love what I had → an Egg White Frittata with mushroom, spinach, goat cheese, and roasted tomato. What a tasty balanced breakfast that I felt great about eating all day.
There are many more great options to choose from, but do add a boost to your day with something freshly squeezed — we sipped on orange juice but there is also kale, apple, celery, and carrot-ginger.
