WELCOME TO BLACK BARN, AN AMERICAN RESTAURANT, SERVING LOCAL, ARTISANAL FOOD IN THE COMFORT OF A MODERN BARN.

Childhood friends, John Doherty and Tom Struzzieri, took separate career paths after high school. 30 years later with seasoned experience in the culinary and equestrian fields respectively, they set out to open a restaurant that combined their passions and expertise in the city they love most.

After John spent a weekend at friend and acclaimed designer Mark Zeff’s BLACKBARN home in the Hamptons, the anchor of Mark’s eponymous design brand, John found that the aesthetic matched the spirit of his restaurant vision. Now, co-owners John and Tom, in collaboration with the multi-layered BLACKBARN brand, present Black Barn Restaurant to New York City, where seasonal, rustic fare meets a modern farmhouse atmosphere.

Immersed into the action of the kitchen, Black Barn’s Chef’s Table is an event in itself.
A newly created monthly menu reflects not only the seasons’ freshest ingredients but also gives the Chefs the freedom to cook with spontaneity inspired by the ingredients themselves. Our Sommeliers personally select perfect wine pairings and take the time to explain each wine.
This communal dinner begins with Champagne and Hors d’ Oeuvres, followed by a 6 course tasting menu.

AT ANY SCALE

The Loft

Overlooking the rafters into the main dining room, warm natural wood with raw concrete columns finish this room satisfying contemporary or traditional tastes. Hosts up to 100 guests for dinner or 120 for cocktails.

Shed + Cabin

Two separate private rooms on the main dining level. Doors for each room can be opened to enjoy the dynamic atmosphere of the main dining room or closed for a more intimate setting. The Shed seats 20 guests and the Cabin seats 12.

Wine Cellar

Showcasing the superb selection of varietals in the restaurant. Dine among the history of fine grapes. 22 guests at a single table or 30 guests at rounds tables.

Chef's Table

An “oven side” view of the family of chefs as they prepare the meal. Each course is paired with wines artfully selected by the sommelier. Communal seating for up to 17 individual guests or the table can be reserved in its entirety.

Main Dining Room

Delightfully designed with a modern “barn” ambiance. Up to 160 guests.

Full Restaurant

Exclusively yours. Bi-level entertaining for up to 300 seated or more on a flow basis.
